The US Department of Commerce (DOC) last week announced the initiation of anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations on the import of fine denier polyester staple fibre from China, India, Republic of Korea, Taiwan and Viet Nam.
Import tax on polyester staple fibre (PSF) might be increased from zero
to 2 per cent, as the Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed to
encourage domestic production.
The European Commission (EC) has ended an anti-subsidy investigation

including Viet Nam, which is expected to boost fibre exports to Europe.
